Jupiter Room

Long weekends come, and long weekends go. This past weekend was a long weekend, and I saw it through to the end. It was good.

The play on Saturday was really great. I had a bit of a hard time getting a carpark, which unfortunately forced me to miss the first minute. And my proper seat. They had to sneak me in up the back so that I wouldn't disturb the other audience members. I was okay with that though.

The production was really enjoyable. I was surprised as to how many lines from Hamlet are in everyday use. And to think that something written 400 years ago is still relevant is amazing. I guess that's the beauty of Shakespeare.

I must admit, there was a portion near the interval where things were dragging a little bit, and I may have had teeny weeny micro sleep, but that happens from time to time. I really had to hot foot it to the theatre, and that probably wore me out a bit.

Saturday night was a nice night. I ate a huge plate of Mexican food down at Pepe's. Again I disappointed myself by paying for Mexican from there. I don't know what it is, but I always walk away feeling that I could do as good a job at home and at far less cost. I have made the vow before that I won't eat there, but I always go back. Oh well.

Sunday was the Seafood Festival. It was a big day. Maybe a little bit too big. I got carried away with the moment and upset some people, including myself. I'm not sure who some of the people in those photos below are. The girl wearing my sunglasses? No idea. And she looks exactly the same in the two consecutive pictures. Weird.

I also lost a shoe. Which was a bummer. I was in the Caxton, having a good time on the dance floor when it disappeared. I lifted my foot up, and the shoe was gone. I looked on the ground for a minute, but it had disappeared into the ether. Gone but not forgotten. Tony and I had drunk quite a few jaegerbombs by this point, so perhaps my search powers were a little lacking. I wasn't too upset about losing the shoe though, and I'm still not. I guess there was casualties on both sides.

Later on I took my other shoe off. I felt silly walking around with just one shoe on. Tony and I still managed to get into the Tinbilly later on. And I almost made it into the casino wearing one of Tony's thongs.

So it was a good time. I even managed to have some calamari early on in the piece. I probably shouldn't have stayed out as late as I did.

Thankfully it was a public holiday the next day. So I didn't have to pay too high a price for my sins. Ria and I made it down to the beach which was nice. We met up with Adam and Laura and had some Wahoo's. It was okay.

For dinner last night I had pizza. And then I watched The Holiday. I don't regret the pizza, I do regret the movie.
