I've been having a bit of a hard time getting back into the swing of the blog. I mean I've got the time to do it. I've got plenty to write about. I just don't seem to have the drive to get it done. I'm not too sure why. Perhaps it's because this is a time of great change.
So I had a really nice weekend. Ria and I went down the coast and stayed at the apartment down there. It's a great place, with lots of room, although maybe if there's more than 2 people there I might need some breathing space.
Basically all Ria and I did was get drunk in the evenings and then wake up early to have breakfast, then go for a walk and have a swim. The water was beautiful. So clear. It was lovely. I'm still amazed every time I see the beaces of Kirra, Coolangatta and Rainbow Bay. They are so different to what I remember as a boy. I guess the sand pumping from the Tweed means that they will be a permanent change, but still, it's weird.
I had a pretty disappointing meal at the surf club on Saturday night. I had the fish. It was very dry. Maybe I should have gone for the steak, but even that didn't taste quite right. Maybe I was just being difficult. Ria won $9 on the pokies.
The moon was full and bright over the weekend. Ria and I took a walk on the beach after dinner. It was almost romantic.
Okay, well I guess Time is up and I need to get to work. Hopefully I'll be able to do some more blogging soon.

At the night school knight school
you doodle and you draw,
anything, anything
except what you're taught
you've got a bad tooth, bad tooth
so you clench your jaw
and you concentrate, concentrate
on the aching cause it's keeping you awake
forecasters of disasters show proofs that show they're right
but you can block out anything
counting every blink of each florescent light
in every class on every single last night
that's right
and then the tooth breaks, tooth breaks
you can bite down on your tongue
and keep a tight smile, tight smile
stitched across on your practiced face
like it's all stupidly, stupidly right
and when you take down your notes each night
and then go back and erase what they say
because they say forecasters of disasters want proof that they were right
they love to see you learn
but they'll have to wait for a long, long time
you can outlast anything
you can count every blink of each florescent light in every class
on every single last night
