Gold Lion
I'm not sure whether to mark today down as a win or not. It's been a close fought battle, but I've got a bad feeling that overall it has been a downer. That sucks.
The start of the day was pretty sweet. It left me a little drained, but pretty eager to take on the day. But then there was no bread to make toast for breakfast, so that sucks. Work in the morning wasn't too bad. I don't think that there were any real dramas. At lunch time I had to call it quits with a salesman who has been talking to me for a week. He's been offering me a position in a betting syndicate. Apparently they scour bookmakers worldwide to find overlaps. Situations where you can't lose. Sports Arbitrage it was called. I was kind of interested, but it was a seven and a half thousand dollar investment, and to tell you the truth it sounded kind of dodgy. The colour of the brochure they sent gave me a funny feeling. I actually really liked talking to Tim, he was an okay kind of guy, and he was certainly using all the sales tricks. Breaking up with him wasn't an easy thing to do, and he went down fighting, it was something that had to be done though. I almost hope that he calls back.
We baked some very nice biscuits for afternoon tea today. They were a fruit muesli biscuit. That's definately a win. Unfortunately I had only just finished eating one when I received a phone call from one of the fathers at the centre. His little girl has been diagnosed as having leukemia. This sucks bigtime. It certainly wasn't the easiest phonecall I've had to take, and I'm sure the father would have preferred if it was one that he didn't have to make. That's life though isn't it? I do think that leukemia is a bastard of a disease, the way that it affects those who are just starting out in life the majority of the time. Imagine having shite for blood? It sucks.
I went out to the museum later this afternoon. I've been working on the fellow behind the counter there for a couple of months. Trying to get him to talk to me. He looks like an interesting kind of dude. I imagine him to be a little bit awkward in the big bad world, but in his little niche, he is king. So finally today he told me what's been going on in his world recently. Apparently his mum tripped over a crate yesterday, detaching a large piece of flesh from her leg. It has been sewn back on with 30 stitches, and they just have to wait and see if it will get enough blood. He was also almost the victim of a car theft. He was at a petrol station paying for his gas when he saw someone making off in his vehicle. He watched them drive out and up the road, then stop and jump out. He says that changing out of second can be a bit tough. So that's not too bad. It doesn't suck too much. He finished by telling me about the computer that he's building. It sounds like a beast to my untrained ear. I'm pretty sure he was getting wood telling me about it. He's looking to playing Battlefield on it.
Tonight I disappointed myself. I arrived home a little late from the museum, but decided to go swimming anyway. On the drive over I changed my mind and came home. I am lame. I suck.

The museum fellow sounds pretty crazy. Having a near CAR-JACKING? Now THAT is hot.
That hurts. It pains me. Hahaha
