Call Me An Ambulance!
Wasn't the weather today beautiful? The sun was shining, the birds were singing, the bees were buzzing, fluffy white clouds rolling through the sky, a breeze shaking the leaves in the trees. It was really very nice. And it sucks that I was stuck at work for most of it. It wasn't all bad, I mean I did manage to get a fair bit of work done which is always nice. And I think that I'm basically back on top of where I have to be. Plus I left at 3.
When I left at 3 I thought that I'd go and see what was happening with the girl. I thought perhaps she might like to go and hang out in a park or something like that. Luckily she wasn't too interested in that.
This evening I went had a hot drink with a friend of mine. 3 years ago she was in the middle of a very tight group of friends. These girls would all do things together, every week. Even six months ago this was still the case. 2006 has been a year of re-invention for alot of them though, leaving this one all alone here in Brisbane. Even her boyfriend has left town. She hasn't let it get her down though. And she had quite a few interesting stories to tell me that I'm surprised I haven't heard before. Uh oh!
I'm going to trim my beard up tomorrow. I'm kind of looking forward to it. It's getting too much red in it again. I'm also concerned with the number of white hairs that are coming through...
Tomorrow night is pretty much my last opportunity to go swimming for the summer. I didn't get down there tonight which was a shame, but not really. I still don't have a replacement activity lined up. I just need something that will take me about an hour and will get a bit of a sweat going. I did receive some information today about kilojoules and how different activites burn different amounts. Apparently getting someone else to wash and iron your clothes doesn't burn any. Who'd have thought?
