Quick And Easy To Apply
Remember how yesterday I said that I came back from my lunchbreak to find an ambulance in the centre carpark? Well, apparently the staff member who was in the back had a minor heart attack. I'm not sure if it was yesterday, or earlier, but she's still in hospital, and won't be back at work this week.
It's kind of scary. You know, you could be at work, telling a child to put the block down, or sweeping the floor, or changing a nappy, and next thing you know there's a massive pain in your chest and left arm and then you keel over. Imagine that.
I guess it could happen at any time. You could be crossing a street. Or driving up to get something from the shops. Or grabbing a frisbee off the roof. Or plugging an appliance into a socket. Still, I think that the staff member might have to give up the cigarettes.
One of the fun things about work is that I am able to indulge in my addiction for knowing other people's business. Now, I don't go overboard, and it's not a horrible affliction. It is something that I think that most people are interested in. I mean, no man is an island. So today there was a little bit of gossip to be found out there.
The first bit was actually quite nice. There was a family who came to the centre about six months ago. They moved down after living in Far North Queensland somewhere, on one of the islands in the Great Barrier Reef I think. When they moved down here, their relationship was a little strained, apparently. Once they made the move, the relationship broke down, and the parents separated.
They are now back together again. So that's great news!
Of course, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. And today I learned that one of my favourite families at the centre are breaking down. I hope that it's not a permanent thing, I hope that there is still some love out there for them. Because what the world needs now, is love sweet love.
Queenslander!
